Forfeited at Bay Hill, Jason Day will not be able to test his new balls – Arnold Palmer Invitational

Former Australian world number one Jason Day has withdrawn from the Arnold Palmer Invitational without giving a reason, and will therefore not be able to play his new Bridgestone balls in competition at Bay Hill.

Jason Day was happy to test his new Bridgestone balls in competition after a new contract with the Japanese company, inspired by his childhood idol Tiger Woods. “We were doing a little game session together and I was immediately intrigued by his Bridgestone XS balls,” he explained. So I started playing them and after discussions with the development teams at Bridgestone, I finally chose the Tour BXs which correspond better to my characteristics”. After Tiger Woods, Bryson DeChambeau, Fred Couples, Matt Kuchar or even Lexi Thompson, it’s a new big fish for the Asian manufacturer.

Sadly, the former Australian world number one has withdrawn from the Arnold Palmer Invitational (March 3-6) for the third time in four years and will be replaced by the American David Lipsky. Winner in 2016 of the last edition before the death of Arnold Palmer, Jason Day, often injured, has not yet given a reason for his withdrawal. After that of Bryson DeChambeauso it’s a second Bridgestone ball player who retires just before the start of the tournament…
