This weekend the Bloom Zone Fryslan Tour will be held in the Netherlands, a 3-day stage race for women through the north of the country. Striking: the organization breaks with the traditional prize pool and surprises with a gift box full of sex toys from new main sponsor EasyToys.
The stage race in the north of the Netherlands was renamed the EasyToys Bloeizone Fryslan Tour† The erotic webshop links its name to the course with a noble goal: “Enter a conversation with all generations in the northern provinces of the Netherlands and give them tips and tools to achieve a healthy sex life.”
The organization is also in favor of that idea. “Health revolves around many factors,” it sounds. “A pleasant sex life is also part of health. The way in which EasyToys makes this subject a topic for discussion appeals to us. I am looking forward to this exciting collaboration.”
Their first time? Not for a long time!
It is not the first time that EasyToys has entered the sports world. In 2020, the company already teamed up with FC Emmen, a club from the Dutch first division. EasyToys was immediately visible, because the name was featured on the players’ shirts as the main sponsor.
Initially, opinions were divided. FC Emmen was in dirty papers and dangled at the bottom of the Eredivisie position. The club received a lot of criticism for the deal with EasyToys. The Dutch football association did not even want the name to appear on the shirts.
FC Emmen dropped to the first division that year, but the collaboration with EasyToys remained intact. In the meantime, things are going a bit more for them. The club is at the top of the first division and the deal with the webshop has been extended.
FC Emmen: “We didn’t have an easy start, not everyone approved of our relationship. But real love conquers everything, and so does our relationship.”
Three days through the north of the Netherlands
Will the collaboration with the Bloeizone Fryslan Tour have a similar success? That should be apparent.
In any case, the stage race starts today with a time trial of 13 kilometers in Surhuisterveen. Time trial guns Ellen van Dijk and Marlen Reusser are the biggest contenders for the first pink jersey.
