Schalke reacts quickly!
After the separation from Putin’s war financier Gazprom, the housing group Vivawest is to be presented as the new main sponsor at the weekend. The negotiations confirmed by the club are nearing completion – BILD explains the background to the lightning deal.
It has to do with a Tönjes: That’s how Schalke’s search for the Gazprom successor went!
Behind Vivawest is the multi-billion dollar RAG Foundation (with a 40 percent majority shareholder), whose CEO is Bernd Tönjes (66). He is considered a big Schalke fan, which certainly doesn’t hurt now.
According to BILD information, the Kumpel-Klub has been talking to the RAG Foundation (finances the perpetual costs of hard coal mining) about possible partnerships for some time.
► With the plans to spin off Schalke’s professional department, which ex-supervisory board boss Clemens Tönnies (65) and ex-board member Alexander Jobst (48/now Düsseldorf boss) had ready in the drawer, the RAG Foundation should be one of the become major shareholders. An investor with a mining stable smell – that might have helped gain the necessary approval from members (75 percent).
► The current head of finance Christina Rühl-Hamers (45) recently explored how the Corona loan of EUR 35 million, which is secured by a state guarantee, could be replaced with the support of the RAG Foundation. The debt club (237 million euros lousy) is said to have offered the catering rights in the arena as security.

Now the rescue deal with Vivawest!
From club circles it can be heard that the real estate group would step in as a transitional sponsor and pay 4 to 5 million euros.
So expect less than Gazprom (9 million euros annually) – Schalke also have to quickly correct their license applications.
