Victor Campenaerts was 5th in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad on Saturday and 6th in the GP Samyn on Tuesday.
The hour record holder was particularly active during the Walloon opening classic, although Dirk De Wolf made a comment in Extra Time Koers.
“You can’t win races that way,” he said about Campenaerts’ tactical approach.
“Victor is a great guy, but there’s still some cost to it. He needs to use his head more.”
De Wolf found some attacks by Campenaerts by telephone. The latter gave that cycling term a different meaning after his training today.
“Yow guys, it’s Vocsnor here,” he told me on the phone in a video posted to Instagram.
“I’m going to attack. Make sure you’re with me. Because the director said it’s the last time I’m allowed to make phone calls. Hi.”
