Back to 2008: Anderlecht beat AA Gent in the final of the Belgian Cup | Croky Cup

On May 18, 2008 Dominic Foley opened the score for AA Gent after 6 minutes, but barely a minute later Jan Polak leveled Anderlecht again.

Thanks to a goal by Adekanmi Olufade on the half hour, Ghent had another bonus, but RSCA realized another turnaround in the last quarter of the match.

Mbark Boussoufa and Guillaume Gillet went on and about their ex-club in two minutes.

It was Anderlecht’s last cup victory, which since then has only made it to the final in 2015. Club Brugge then won 2-1.

AA Gent won the cup final against Cercle Brugge (3-0) in 2010, but the defeat against KV Mechelen (2-1 in 2019) is still heavy on the stomach.
