Now the fans are charging Rob Manfred for laughing

Last Tuesday, March 1st, the commissioner of the Major League Baseball (MLB), Rob Manfredreported that a new labor agreement was not reached with the Players Association (MLBPA), and that there would be game cancellations.

Minutes after the negotiations between the two organizations ended, Manfred addressed the journalists and the fans through a press conference, in which he declared canceled the first 2 series of season regular.

In the same way, the senior MLB official reiterated that there will be no rescheduling of the games that are lost, the season would be cut from 162 to 156 games, and that the salary of the players for each game they do not play will be lost.

Fans criticize Manfred

There was a moment during the press conference, in which Manfred, in an intervention with a journalist, let out a laugh, which was not well received by the millions of people who saw the images.

“So Manfred gets on ESPN live to laugh at game cancellations, and our guys can’t even get MLB Network to air our press conference. I understand,” said a fan on social media.

It was a very sad day for professional baseball in the United States, since the first work stoppage in an MLB season in 26 years took place, reason enough for dozens of fans to speak out against Manfred, and the fact that he had the audacity to burst out laughing on a historically negative afternoon.

“Hard to see Manfred smile, laugh and talk about fans when so many people’s livelihoods will be affected by this,” another person added on Twitter.

Only time will tell if there will be a season this year in the MLB since both players and managers assured that they would soon sit down again to negotiate a new employment contract, and stop the cancellation of games, as well as the cut of the campaign.

I have no idea how he has the ability to laugh at anything right now. Her mind is messed up”, posted another fan on social media.
