The first leg of the semi-final of the Coppa Italia between AC Milan and Inter ended at 0-0 on Tuesday evening. The most impressive moment came before the derby, when Ukrainian football icon Andriy Shevchenko appeared on the big screen in San Siro with a message against the war in his country.

“The Ukrainian people only want peace, because peace has no borders. Because what unites us must be stronger than what divides us. Let’s stop the war together. A hug for everyone,” said the former top striker as the tens of thousands of fans in packed San Siro first became very quiet and then loudly applauded.
