Game canceled due to Corona!
Mainz 05 has applied to the DFL to cancel the game against BVB on Sunday (3:30 p.m. / DAZN). According to BILD information, the league association fulfilled the club’s wish – the game is canceled!
The 05ers announced on Thursday that 19 people had been infected with the virus and had gone into domestic isolation. Among them are 13 players (12 licensed players).
At the moment, Mainz does not have a goalkeeper from the licensed team. Coach Bo Svensson (42) is also infected. The FSV currently only has 14 players ready for action.
There is currently no explanation for the massive outbreak.
According to the DFL rules of the game, an application for a transfer can be granted if fewer than 16 players are available to a team. Among them must be at least nine licensed players and among them one goalkeeper. Injured or banned actors count as available and not in the absences.
These criteria are met at Mainz 05 – and the game is therefore canceled.
