The reactions were not long in coming after the cancellation of the first 2 series of the regular season of the Major League Baseball (MLB), since both players of the stature of Mike Troutand dozens of fans, have spoken out against commissioner Rob Manfred, as well as league officials.
This is the first work stoppage in a campaign of Big leagues in 26 years, so the season would be reduced from 162 games to 156and the salaries of each lost game for the players would be lost.
That said, the last to speak on the matter was the pitcher Ross Stripling of the Toronto Blue Jayswho kept nothing to himself, and was clear in his feelings about how the players were treated by the officials, which he assures, did not negotiate in good faith.

“It was an easy no, man,” Stripling said of the union’s decision to reject the league’s most recent proposal, according to Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi and Ben Nicholson-Smith. “Because we felt like we were giving them a fair offer and they just didn’t budge all this time. Since Dallas in December (when the lockout started), they’ve hardly moved at all.”.
Make sure you blame them
The Blue Jays players’ union representative went on to say that management used deceptive tactics, and that they were only trying to drag out negotiations toward the deadline, when they already had no for an answer.
“They were trying to sneak stuff through us, it was like they thought we were dumb baseball players and made us sleepy after midnight or something… They did exactly what we thought they would do. They pushed us to a deadline that they imposed, and then they tried to sneak past us a little bit on that deadline and we were ready for it. We have been ready for five years. And then they tried to turn us around [el martes] in public relations, saying that we had changed our tone and that we had tried to make it look like it was our fault. That never happened.”

For now, the season will not start on March 31 as previously scheduled, and the light is not seen at the end of the tunnel for a new work agreement to be born between the MLB and the Players Union, there is nothing left but to wait better, and that the situation is resolved for the good of the players, the fans, and especially baseball.
