Andy Murray is coached again by Ivan Lendl

Tennis ace Andy Murray has a new, old coach. He is now working again with Ivan Lendl. The Brit celebrated his greatest successes with him.

Former world number one Andy Murray brings back Ivan Lendl as coach. Four and a half years after the separation of the two, Lendl and the 34-year-old tennis player want to work together again, as Murray’s manager announced on Friday. After the tournament in Miami, which ends in early April, Lendl and Murray are planning a training block in the United States lasting several weeks.

Murray, who is currently ranked 84th in the world after a long injury break, has had his greatest successes under Lendl. Born in the Czech Republic and now an American, he led the Briton to successes such as Olympic gold in 2012 and 2016 as well as victories at the US Open and Wimbledon. In the meantime, Lendl was also the coach of top German player Alexander Zverev, but the collaboration between the two ended after less than a year.

As a player, Lendl was one of Boris Becker’s great rivals in the 80s and 90s. He was at the top of the world rankings for 270 weeks and won eight Grand Slam titles.
