- 9 am 52. Who are the contenders? Top favorite is Annemiek van Vleuten. She has already won three times this year: final and stage win in the Setmana Valenciana and last week the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad after a long sprint. Van Vleuten has already won twice in Siena, in 2019 and 2020. Last year she finished fourth. With a further fifth and seventh place, she has never finished outside the top ten in six entries. Who can beat her? There are always candidates, of course. Trek-Segafredo starts a strong block with Elisa Longo Borghini who has already been on the podium three times and won in 2017. SD Worx won last year with Chantal van den Broek-Blaak who is present again, with Ashleigh Moolman, Demi Vollering and our compatriot Lotte Kopecky they are perhaps the strongest block in this Strade Bianche and can, as so often , play out their collective. And what about Katarzyna Niewiadoma? She has already been on the podium four times, three times as second (2018, 2017 and 2016) and once as third (2019). Marianne Vos also made her comeback on the road after her title in the field, but she never broke any pots in the Strade Bianche. †
