There is a chance that David Neres will leave Shakhtar Donetsk after just a few weeks. São Paulo has opened the door wide for the return of the former Ajax player.
Due to the war situation in Ukraine, Neres had to flee the country. He is now safe. Football is anything but the main thing for Neres and his environment at the moment and São Paulo director Carlos Belmonte respects that. “There are players in Ukraine who probably won’t stay there,” he is quoted as saying by Globo Esporte.
“We’ve talked about David Neres. It’s all still very fresh. If we could get Neres for a season and take over part of his salary, that could be discussed. We don’t have the resources to manage a player like him.” but we’re open to keeping it here for a while.”
Neres played eight games in the first of São Paulo before making the transfer to Ajax in January 2017 for around twelve million euros. Shakhtar took him over from Ajax for around the same amount.
