12 African hopefuls join the Basketball Africa League

The Basketball Africa League will see every team field a very young face this season, as the NBA-affiliated league launches BAL Elevate, a project that places an NBA Academy Africa player on each of the 12 teams.

The African hopefuls who will participate in the 2nd edition of the BAL:

Sahara Conference

  • AS Salé (Morocco): Nadir Bennis from Rabat, Morocco
  • CFV (Mozambique): Reuben Abuchi Chinyelu, d’Enugu Agade, d’tat d’Anambra, Nigeria.
  • Duke (Senegal): Babacar Sane, from Bignona, Senegal
  • REG (Rwanda): Joy Ighovodja, d’Abeokuta, État d’Ogun, Nigeria.
  • SLAC (Guinea): Serigne Saliou Mbaye from Thiès, Senegal
  • US Monastir (Tunisia): Charles Loic Onana Awana, from Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Nile Conference

  • Cape Town Tigers (South Africa): Matar Diop from Dakar, Senegal
  • Cobra Sport (South Sudan): Khaman Madit Maluach from Rumbek, South Sudan
  • Hope Fukash (Democratic Republic of Congo): Emmanuel Eberechukwu Okorafor, from Abia State, Nigeria.
  • FAP (Cameroun): Ulrich Kamka Chomche de Bafang, Cameroun
  • Petro from Luanda (Angola): Thierry Serge Darlan, from Bangui, Central African Republic
  • Zamalek (Egypt): Khadim Rassoul Mboup, from Dakar, Senegal
