BOLANAS.COM – Witan Sulaeman and Egy Maulana Vikri proved to be more productive when they didn’t play together at FK Senica.

The coach of FK Senica is in a dilemma regarding the fate of two Indonesian wonderkids who have the same characteristics.

FK Senica brought in two Indonesian players at the same time in the January transfer market, namely Egy Maulana Vikri and Witan Sulaeman.

Egy Maulana Vikri was re-signed after his contract expired in January, while Witan Sulaeman was on loan from Lechia Gdansk.

The Egy-Witan duo have always played together since the beginning in three matches in the 2021/22 Slovak League in February.

Egy and Witan were deployed as right and left wingers in three matches against Slovan Bratislava, SKF Sered and Michalovce.

Unfortunately, FK Senica only won positive results in the last match (vs Michalovce) in the form of a narrow 1-0 win.

In the three matches above, FK Senica rarely found access to Witan and Egy on the two flanks.

The problem seemed to be solved when FK Senica traveled to SK Sasova in the Slovak FA Cup, Tuesday (1/3/2022).

In that match, Witan played as an attacking midfielder with a free role in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

In that role, Witan looks no longer “imprisoned” like when he played as a left winger when Egy played.

Witan can also express better using his left foot, as evidenced by FK Senica’s quick goal.

Witan received the ball from Milan Jurdik and realized the goalkeeper had moved forward, then scored the ball with his strongest foot.

This goal would not have been created (or would not have been scored by Witan) had Witan operated on the left as in previous matches.

Coach Pavel Sustr then pulled Witan out and put Egy in at half-time.

Egy, who is used to playing on the right wing, still plays sharp as usual and can shoot several times.

BolaNas.com Egy recorded three shots which ended in three spectacular saves by the home goalkeeper.

Egy made three attempts from a penetration situation that ended with a right-footed shot, a wild ball moment that led to a left-footed close-range shot, and a free kick.

From the match situation above, Witan and Egy proved to be able to threaten the opponent’s goal in the same position, namely the right winger.

Therefore, coach Pavel Sustr seems to have homework to determine the best position for the two.

“We have to improve the training process, especially the offensive phase in our game design,” said Sustr (20/2/2022).

“Only through hard work, honesty and training with a clear objective can we move forward.”

The best option might be to put Witan in the second striker position, and keep Egy as the right winger.
