Since her arrival at C’Chartres Basket Féminin last August, Marine Debaut (27) has brought her experience of Ligue 2 but, above all, her energy. “Marine is not just about stats. She is above all a girl who does not cheat, who gives everything on both sides of the field. With such an investment, it inevitably galvanizes its partners, ”welcomes Benoît Marty, his trainer at the CCBF.
You don’t need to be a regular at the Halle Jean-Cochet to notice it. All-terrain pressing, kangaroo jumps on opponent’s throw-in, or even leaving the field due to cramps: Marine Debaut does not play economy. Never: “I’ve been like this since I started basketball, in Offranville (Seine-Maritime). I bathed in it since my father was a coach and my mother an N3 player, ”says the CCBF 1-2 post, alternating with Élise Marié.
The CCBF falls in Aulnoye
Before that, the Norman by birth will have reunited with her former partners from the SIG (6th), where she spent two seasons, during a crucial match at the top of the table in view of the play-offs: “It’s a joy to find them again, even if the team has changed a lot since last year (note: six players have left the Alsatian squad). On the way there, I received a great welcome. Seeing the full SIG hall again, as in the pre-covid era, made me happy, ”says the one who has kept excellent relations with Strasbourg post office 2, Emma Peytour.
Burst of energy
But there is no question of making the slightest gift to her former partners: “I am in the field as in life: I always give myself 100%”, laughs the young woman, whose family name has a common root with debauchery (of energy). An electrifying spark for her partners but which she still has to channel to do better: “I know that my statistics are behind what I am capable of doing (note: 10.3 points, at 34% success and 8.5 rating). But I’m not going to stop shooting because I lack efficiency. Even if I miss ten shots, and the 11th can make the difference, I will not hesitate. It’s one of the things I’ve learned along the way,” concludes Debaut, ready to battle it out.
