Chicago (AP) – Led by superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, defending champion Milwaukee Bucks in the North American basketball professional league NBA won the top game with the Chicago Bulls. Milwaukee won 118-112 thanks to a strong final quarter.
Antetokounmpo had 34 points and 16 rebounds, while Jrue Holiday scored 10 of his 26 points in the last five minutes. The Bucks turned the game around in the closing stages and are now leading the Central Division – level with the Bulls, who have lost all eight games of the season to the three other top teams in the Eastern Conference. The Miami Heat (42-22) lead ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers (39-23) and the Bucks and Bulls (39-25 each).
The Orlando Magic, meanwhile, are no longer the team with the worst record in the league after their third win in the past four games. Franz Wagner contributed 11 points, seven rebounds and five assists to the Toronto Raptors’ 103-97 win but hit only five of his 14 throws. The German national player Isaac Bonga returned to the Raptors for the first time since the end of January for a short assignment in the NBA. Franz Wagner’s older brother Moritz, on the other hand, is still absent from the Magic because of a rib injury.
Dennis Schröder also had to watch injured as his Houston Rockets conceded their twelfth loss in a row. The Rockets are now the worst team in the league after 101-116 at the Denver Nuggets.
