Bundesliga: Bochum wins against Fürth: Leitsch from bad luck to hero – 2nd Bundesliga

Football can go so fast…

In the 2-1 defeat in the cup on Wednesday against Freiburg, Maxim Leitsch (23) was unlucky in the 120th minute and put up the Freiburg winning goal with a big buck. That cost VfL 2 million euros. The reparation comes in the 2-1 win against Fürth.

35. Minute: Löwen circles a free kick from 17 meters into the left bend. Fürth goalkeeper Linde just scrapes the ball out of the corner. But his defense is too short, so Leitsch only has to dust off. What a story! Shortly after the kick-off, the unlucky player in the cup was celebrated with chants from the Bochum fans. An action that has obviously done him good.

Fürth compensates out of nowhere. Bochum’s defender Bella-Kotchap unluckily deflected a volley from Hrgota into his own goal (64′). Just 2.5 weeks ago he scored an own goal in the 1-1 draw in Stuttgart. Although the team of coach Thomas Reis (48) is already playing the third game within 7 days, they turn it up again. Losilla hits a dropkick six minutes later to win.

Home power VfL! Bochum got 24 of 32 points at home and are now 9 points ahead of relegation place 16. The Pott-Klub is therefore going into the last 9 league games with a big cushion.

And what about Fuerth?

Things are slowly but surely getting tight for the Franconians. With a deficit of 9 points on place 16, a small miracle is needed. It didn’t help that coach Stefan Leitl (44) got the same starting line-up for the fourth time in a row.
