Interview with Watanabe Onigiri, the land of gold Part 1
R-1 Grand Prix 2022 Attention young entertainer Watanabe Onigiri (Kin no Kuni) who became a finalist. Watanabe was a smashing catcher who teamed up with Yasutaka Shiomi (Yakult), who was one grade higher, and Kazutomo Iguchi (Nippon Ham) when he was in Buso High School. In the first part of the interview where Watanabe talks about his memory of high school baseball, he looks back on his days aiming for Koshien with his friends including Shiomi.

“I’m very happy because it’s my first time to cover baseball. If it’s about baseball, I can really talk about it forever.”
When you laugh, the wrinkles on the outer corners of your eyes grow longer and your gums are exposed. The picture-like “full smile” is accompanied by laughter. Watabe Onigiri, a comedy duo from Kin no Kuni, is a young entertainer whose attention is rising rapidly.
Watanabe is one of the finalists in the “R-1 Grand Prix 2022”, the best comedian in Japan to be held on March 6th. Her possession-type acting ability is highly evaluated, and her rounded figure makes her feel charming.
In fact, Watanabe has a past that attracted attention even in baseball. He was a smashing catcher who teamed up with Yasutaka Shiomi (Yakult), who was one grade higher, and Kazutomo Iguchi (Nippon Ham) when he was in the second year of Buso High School, a powerful player in Kanagawa.
Buso is an old man who participated in Koshien four times in the 1960s. As mentioned above, not only have produced a number of professional baseball players such as Shiomi and Iguchi, but also talents with baseball experience stand out. Tetsuro Degawa (from the Japanese-style baseball club), Punch Sato (former Orix), Atsushi Tsutsumita (Impulse). Watanabe rice balls are also being added to the genealogy.
