The coastal classic between Junior and Unión Magdalena was for the Barranquilla team, which ended up winning three goals for one, in a match for the tenth date of the BetPlay Dimayor League, played on March 5 at the Roberto Meléndez Metropolitan Stadium in Barranquilla.
The annotations of the shark team were converted by Luis ‘Cariaco’ González, Edwuin Cetré and Miguel Ángel Borja, by the Magdalena Union discounted by James Sánchez.
The match in the first half was played with great dynamics by both teams. Unión was the one that generated the first arrivals in the rival goal, like the one Roberto Hinojosa had, who led close to the area and before the goalkeeper came out, he shot on goal, but when the ball went to the net, defender Gabriel Fuentes appeared and sent the ball to the corner kick.
Junior countered with a collective play that ended with a pass to Miguel Ángel Borja, only in front of goalkeeper Ramiro Sánchez did he not know how to define. On the same play, the Union came out quickly from a counterattack and Joel Contreras was stripped of the ball inside the area by Dany Rosero.
The game came into friction with the players who did not want to give a lost ball. But it was the Union that had the ball the longest, because Junior became erratic in transporting it.
In one of those arrivals of the banana team, Junior recovered the ball near his area, they gave it to Yesus Cabrera, who put a pass behind the flyers where Luis ‘Cariaco’ González was, who advanced a few meters and when entering into the area and before goalkeeper Ramiro Sánchez left, he hit a left foot to put Junior to win 1-0, when they were 21 minutes into the game.
Unión Magdalena tried, but it was necessary in the last section of the area or the balls that reached Miguel Ángel Borja, he did not hit them well to put it in the goal guarded by Sánchez.
At 40 minutes came Junior’s second goal. It was a collective play, where the last two who touched it were ‘Cariaco’ González and Edwuin Centré. This was the one in charge of finishing off the ball, after surpassing the mark of one of the central defenders and with his right foot he nested the ball in the net to make it 2-0.
Before the end of the first half, Miguel Ángel Borja was able to score the third, but in the attempts he had against goalkeeper Sánchez, he had no luck getting the ball into the goal.
For the second half at Unión Magdalena, James Sánchez entered for Jairo Palomino, and Jair Scott for José Gómez. Junior continued with the same eleven.
At 55 minutes, referee Carlos Ortega sanctioned a penalty in favor of Unión Magdalena, after reviewing the VAR before Jorge Arias’ handball inside the area. The person in charge of collecting was James Sánchez, who at 57, scored for Unión Magdalena and the game was 2-1 in favor of the local.
At minute 62, Miguel Ángel Borja made it 3-1 in favor of Junior, by executing a penalty kick sanctioned by Ortega, before a hand committed inside the area by Jermain Peña.
With the 3-1 in their favor, Omar Albornoz entered Junior for Edwuin Cetré, Walmer Pacheco for Fabián Viáfara, Fernando Uribe for Miguel Ángel Borja and Fabián Sambueza for Luis González. Changes that gave him greater dynamics and in a short time he generated three clear goal arrivals, but Omar Albornoz was unable to define against goalkeeper Ramiro Sánchez.
