The decisive goalscorer for Leverkusen: Thomas Müller (32)!
The Bayern veteran prevented the home win with his own goal to make it 1-1, hitting his own net for the first time in his career!
36 minutes: Demirbay brings a free kick into the penalty area from the inside right. At the near post, Müller flies in the flank and deflects with the toe into an untenable path for goalkeeper Ulreich, who was already in position to intercept the ball.
For Müller, the own goal premiere in his long career.
It took 615 competitive games – suddenly it went backwards!
Coach Julian Nagelsmann (34) on the Müller mishap: “He likes to hit the right side. It’s unfortunate, but it happens. That obviously happens to the best and today it hit him. I don’t think that’s going to knock him out for a long time.”
Before the own goal, the Bavarians get off to a strong start – and take the lead with a ping-pong goal from Niklas Süle (26).
18 minutes: The ball is deflected four times in the penalty area after a Bayern corner. Finally, the ball lands right in front of Süle, who humorlessly slams the ball into the short corner.
Ironically, Süle! Since the announcement of his summer move to BVB, the national player has found his old strength. He was already the best Bayern player in the 1-0 win in Frankfurt and is also one of the strongest Bayern players against Leverkusen.
Süle: “I’m just grateful because it’s not a matter of course that I move to Dortmund and the spectators here still call my name after a tackle and don’t whistle.”
The cheering over the Süle goal remains the only Munich of the day. Much was confused before the Champions League quarter-finals against Salzburg on Tuesday (first leg 1-1).

An Adli goal would have hurt Bayern twice. The record champions were also interested in Adli last summer, who was still playing for Toulouse FC in France.

However, the France junior international opted for a move to Leverkusen. At Bayer he promised more playing time than at the record champions.
So far, this idea has worked – in his debut season, Adli has made a strong 30 appearances at Leverkusen. Only the goal in Munich did not want to succeed.
Leverkusen coach Gerardo Seoane (43): “I’m not disappointed, but you do wonder what could have been when you look at the chances. Compliments to my team on how they fought back, in the end the effectiveness for the second goal was simply lacking.”
By the way: Brazzo Salihamidzic was absent from the stadium. The Bayern sports director tested positive for Corona.
