Ex-professional Stakhovsky disappointed by Federer +++ Russian gymnast causes a scandal

Ex-Ukrainian tennis player Sergiy Stakhovsky has joined his homeland’s fight against the Russian onslaught and is voicing support for his homeland. Novak Djokovic got in touch immediately and promised him this, but unfortunately he hadn’t heard anything from Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. “I think it’s a pity that you haven’t answered yet,” he said, disappointed, but qualified: “I can understand you, because it’s not your war. We have the support of great personalities. I hope it lasts,” Stakhovsky told Italian newspaper La Stampa.

The 36-year-old received feedback from Novak Djokovic. «Djokovic sent me a message of support. We even wrote something, »he explained and published the chat history on Instagram. “Please let me know the best address to send help to. Financial help, but also any other help … », Djokovic wrote to the 36-year-old: « Thinking of you … Hope everything calms down soon. »

Stakhovsky, who caused a tennis sensation at Wimbledon in 2013 by beating Roger Federer in the second round, had retired from tennis and returned to Ukraine after the Australian Open in January. At the end of February he declared that he wanted to fight for his homeland in the war. “I have no military experience, but private weapons experience,” said the former world number 31 to Sky Sports.
