The PGA Tour communication service confirmed it on Sunday evening, Bryson DeChambeau will not be at the start of the Players Championship this Thursday at Ponte Vedra Beach. A new disappointment for the overpowered American who is unable to recover from his wrist injury and his fall at Saudi International.
After renouncing at the last minute to defend his title at Bay Hill, Bryson DeChambeau hoped to make a comeback on the occasion of the Players Championship. Unfortunately for his supporters, BDC once again preferred to forfeit so as not to aggravate his injury, one month before the first major of the season.
28th out of 35 at Tournament of Championspackage at Sony Opendecreased to Farmers Insurance Open then forced to give up after 18 holes at Saudi International (Asian Tour), Bryson DeChambeau still does not see the end of the tunnel.
If he explained last week that he could hit balls, he is not 100% and prefers not to take the risk of compromising the rest of his season.

This time, no announcement via a video posted on DeChambeau’s social networks but a laconic tweet from the com’ service of the PGA Tour announcing the replacement of DeChambeau by Hayden Buckley who had just lost his place in the field to benefit the winner of the Puerto Rico Open 2022, Ryan Brehm.
