FC Bayern has finally lost the competition for Andreas Christensen. According to current media reports, the Dane has given FC Barcelona a verbal commitment to move.
In the search for a successor to Niklas Süle, Bayern suffered a major setback. In the past few days, there have already been indications that Munich will lose out to FC Barcelona in the transfer poker for Andreas Christensen. As transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports, the 25-year-old defender has made a final decision and will join the Catalans on a free transfer next summer.
Barça made “a much better offer”.
More on Christensen. No way for Premier League clubs because he wants to respect Chelsea – but he’s prepared to accept Barcelona proposal. ???????? #CFC
Barça bid way better than Bayern one. It’s matter of final stages. #FCB

As reported by Romano, Christensen has given Barcelona a verbal transfer commitment. According to this, everything is regulated between the club and the player, only the signature on the contract is missing. This should happen as soon as Christensen successfully completes the second part of his medical check in the coming days.
Bayern must look for an alternative
The Dane has reportedly turned down several offers from the English Premier League. Bayern have also made an offer for the Denmark international, but Barca’s “was much better,” according to Romano.
The Munich team now have to look for an alternative. In addition to the Brazilian Gleison Bremer (FC Turin), Matthias Ginter from Borussia Mönchengladbach is still an issue for the German record champions. According to rumours, there is currently a lot pointing towards Ginter, as the German international is available on a free transfer in the summer. Bremer, on the other hand, costs between 20-25 million euros. FCB does not want to spend that much money on a new central defender.
