The association “Latvijas Futbola Virslīga” (LFV) and the Spanish “LaLiga” have signed a memorandum of cooperation, the organizations report.
“The main goal is to work with one of the world’s leading leagues to promote the development of football,” the LFV said in a statement. The agreement was signed by OLars Majo, Executive Director of LaLiga, and Maksims Krivuņecs, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Futbola Virslīga.
By signing the memorandum, the two sides committed themselves to cooperating in the fields of technology, corporate governance, sports management, women’s football, audiovisual, commercial law and marketing. One of the key points of cooperation is support in the technology sector. LaLiga is one of the world’s leading sports and entertainment organizations in the field of technology. In the future, LaLiga will also help Optibet’s top league with technological solutions.
The memorandum of cooperation also covers other areas of cooperation, from brand awareness to mutual support on media rights issues. An agreement has also been reached on a joint sports forum with the participation of LaLiga in Riga. New opportunities will also arise for Optibet Premier League clubs. In cooperation with LaLiga, it is planned to organize joint seminars and experience exchange programs, which would also involve clubs from both leagues.
“This memorandum of understanding will strengthen our relationship with Optibet’s Premier League,” said Mayo. “Working together, we will have the opportunity to share our experiences and jointly promote the development of professional and international football.”
La Liga is one of the most modern sports leagues in the world. The signed memorandum of cooperation is a confirmation that we mutually want to exchange ideas and knowledge, as well as work together to develop football. We in the Latvian Premier League are also ambitious and want to grow. We have a lot in common, ”Mayo added. “This agreement not only provides for cooperation in various fields, but also forms a new bridge between the LaLiga and Optibet Premier League clubs,” Krivuņecs was pleased with the agreement. “This will create new opportunities for Latvian clubs. I am convinced that this is another important step forward, and it will add value to our fans, which is the most important thing. ”
