There can’t be a nicer reason to miss the European Championship. National player Melanie Leupolz (27) becomes a mom!
This means that she will miss the European Championships in England in July, as her club Chelsea announced.
Leupolz has played 75 international matches so far, was European champion with the DFB selection in 2013 and Olympic champion in 2016.
National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg: “I am very happy for Melly, because this is of course great news for her personally. Of course it is a bitter loss for us, especially with regard to the European Championship, but that is not decisive in this situation, but the joy we share with her about her very personal happiness.
