Yesterday, the Nièvre youth championships took place, under the control of Francis Gental and Rémi Lebarbier who jointly serve as interim presidents of the departmental committee.
29 young people, boys and girls, aged 9 to 17, representing most of the six clubs affiliated to the Federation (Cosne, Nevers, Guérigny, Decize, Saint-Amand and Saint-Honoré) tried to win the titles and validate their ticket for the regional phase, on April 2 and 3 in Bourbon-Lancy (Saône-et-Loire).
Cosne won four of the six titles, in line with cadets Arthur Bierry and Eléane Chareau
Arrived in the bad two years ago after a spell in football, Arthur Bierry won his first title and confirmed his progress since he was already on other podiums. High school student in Cosne, in second A sport option, he follows in the footsteps of his mother who practiced the discipline for twenty years. Arthur Bierry will go to the regional championship without pressure.
In the Chareau family, ask for the eldest daughter and you will find Éléane who won her third departmental title and already participated in the regionals. Further, you find his youngest Julianna, second in minims… And right next to it, Sylvain, the dad, happy trainer of the Cosnois club.
A high school student, Éléane Chareau has been playing for six years, trains two to three times a week and takes part in numerous tournaments in the region.
