ATP – Kyrgios on the GOAT: “It’s the end for Federer in this debate” #Kyrgios #Federer #Nadal #Djokovic #GOAT #Tennis

Invited this week to Indian Wells, Nick Kyrgios expresses himself very regularly on his podcast No Boundarieswhere the 132nd player in the world comments on tennis news and particularly fuels the “GOAT” debate (“greatest of all time”). Grand fan du Suisse Roger Federerthe whimsical Australian seems to have changed his mind about the “greatest player of all time”. Rafael Nadal would be his favorite. “If he wins Roland, he will undoubtedly be the GOAT.”, said Kyrgios.

“I don’t see Roger (Federer) beating the best players on the circuit”

But why would Federer no longer be in the game? The 26-year-old’s response. “This is the end for Roger in this debate. In the face-to-face, he is dominated by the two (Nadal and Djokovic, editor’s note), really largely. And how could he beat them, even on grass now? He will still fall behind with his injury. Also, I don’t see Roger beating the best players on the circuit.. Everything is clear to Nick.

“If he wins Roland (Garros), Nadal will undoubtedly be the GOAT”

Nadal and Djokovic therefore seem the favorites to assert themselves as the “GOAT”. But the also was impressed by the Spaniard in the final of theOpen d’Australie. An advantage over the Serb? “Before the game against Daniil Medvedev, I said it was a horrible confrontation for Rafa. At 3-2, 0/40 for Medvedev in the 3rd set, I thought it was over. And I looked at the score again two and a half hours later and thought, ‘That’s not possible.’ I never really doubted Rafa’s resources in his career but… If he wins Roland, he will undoubtedly be the GOAT.”, added Kyrgios. But the fight for this honorary title will surely take place with, to begin with, a Roland Garros where the two champions should fight for the crown.
