Serge Ludot, after having worked for twenty years at the Saint-Laurent club and the Brittany League, it’s decided, you are retiring?

I did not run in the last elections, a year ago. At 84, you have to be reasonable and I told the president of the League, Jean-Luc Poulain. Jean Perrier took over from the sports commission that I chaired for twenty years. I had succeeded Yves Miriel with whom I was already working on the departmental committee of Morbihan. We did a good job with Georges Barbaret, the president at the time.

Have you had a busy community life?

I said I would quit at 80 and continued for another four years. Jean-Luc Poulain is super competent and dedicated, but because of back problems and my age, at some point you have to know when to stop. I also ceased my duties at the Saint-Laurent club where I started 22 years ago as treasurer. I mainly took care of the young people and the teams, I was also president of the club and captain of the Games.

How do you analyze the development of the discipline and what do you see as negative?

It has evolved for the better in terms of licensees, but the spirit is no longer there, we were eaten. I’ve cut a little, I still go to office meetings in Saint-Laurent, I’m a veteran, but selfishness has taken precedence over everything in our sport. The level has dropped in some clubs, like in Saint-Laurent, I have always favored sports, like the Quéven club, which also favors sport.
