The offer presented through the Raine merchant bank in New York. And it involves Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss and a secret partner. Abramovich can reply by March 15th
It gets serious. The Telegraph writes that there is an official offer to buy Chelsea put up for sale by Abramovich. The offer is from American billionaire Todd Boehly, and also involves Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss and another businessman whose name has not yet been revealed. The offer was presented through New York-based merchant bank Raine.
The Telegraph writes that Abramovich has until March 15 to respond to the offer. The 15th is the last day for offers.
Boehly is one of the owners of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team. His offer, writes the Telegraph, has been presented for a couple of days.
There has been no official comment from the American billionaire.
According to the British newspaper, Boehly’s may not be the only offer for the Stamford Bridge club.
The Ricketts family, who own the Chicago Cubs, could rival Boehly’s offer; an Saudi-based brokerage firm would be following the deal.
Turkish businessman Muhsin Bayrak also repeated that he had made an offer of just under 2.5 billion pounds. But there are no confirmations.
