Apple will broadcast MLB games with the “Friday Night Baseball” program

Apple announced today at the “Peek Performance” keynote that it will propose (in conjunction with Major League Baseball (MLB)) MLB games on Apple TV+ with the Friday Night Baseball program. It’s a weekly doubleheader with live pre- and post-game shows that will be available to fans in eight countries exclusively through Apple’s video streaming service from the start of the regular season.

Additionally, the company says baseball fans in the United States and Canada will also have access to a new 24/7 live stream featuring MLB game replays, news and highlights. analysis, highlights, classic games and more, plus a full lineup of on-demand programming, including highlights and MLB-themed original content.

“Like all baseball fans, we can’t wait for the season to open. Baseball holds a special place in the hearts of so many Apple customers, not just in the United States, but in many countries around the world. We’re proud to make Apple TV+ the home of great baseball moments all season long.”said Peter Stern, Apple’s vice president of services.

For his part, Noah Garden, Chief Revenue Officer of Major League Baseball (MLB), said:

“Apple is the perfect partner to bring Friday Night Baseball to fans around the world. From milestones like launching At Bat on day one of the App Store in 2008 to integrating Apple technology into ballparks across the country, this robust new gaming package is the next perfect collaboration in our long history of delivering innovative and quality content to our fans. With national availability and international reach, MLB on Apple TV+ offers an exciting new platform for fans that connects a wider audience to the game.”

Apple specifies that all users will be able to take advantage of Friday Night Baseball for a limited time. After that, users will need to subscribe to Apple TV+ if they want to continue enjoying the service. The firm goes on to say that Friday Night Baseball will be available on Apple TV+ in the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Korea and the United Kingdom, and will expand to other countries at a later date.
