FC Bayern in individual criticism: Lewandowski with a hat trick, but the hero is Sané

FC Bayern beat RB Salzburg 7-1 and is in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Robert Lewandowski scored a hat trick, Thomas Müller a brace. The hero of the evening, however, is Leroy Sané, who rewarded his gala with a goal late.

Voltage? show of force! FC Bayern sweeps in the round of 16 second leg with 7:1 over RB Salzburg and, after the 1-1 draw in the first leg, safely makes it into the Champions League quarter-finals.
Who was particularly brilliant: The individual criticism of the AZ.

Quiet comeback for Neuer – Süle earns applause

MANUEL NEUER – NOTE 3: A month after his meniscus surgery back in the Bayern goal. Neuer passed Oliver Kahn in his 104th Champions League game. Demanded for the first time when he deflected Seiwald’s shot over the bar (15′). Otherwise the keeper had little to do. No chance at 5: 1 (71st).

BENJAMIN SURNAME – NOTE 3: Often criticized, but recently one of the better ones in the wobbly defensive. A bit careless at the beginning, Pavard stumbled the ball in his own penalty area (15th). After that stable.

NIKLAS SÜLE – NOTE 2: Bayern’s outgoing defensive colossus is in very good form, Süle played the central part of the back three. And convinced again. Clever in direct duels. Out to applause.

LUCAS HERNANDEZ – NOTE 3: In the Bundesliga suspended, in the premier class again in demand from the start as a left central defender. Hardly had any problems with the Salzburg attack. Sovereign.

Kimmich routinely, Sané with a gala

JOSHUA KIMMICH – NOTE 2: Bayern’s midfield boss presented himself as a strong duel, ball distributor and strategist. Quite routine.

JAMAL MUSIALA – NOTE 3: Again called up alongside Kimmich in the center. Won a duel by tackle in the first minute. Not flawless, but decent overall.

SERGE GNABRY – NOTE 2: Despite variable performance, he remained in the starting lineup. It paid off. Very committed, also helped diligently in defense. Highlight: His tight conclusion to 4: 0 (31st). Out at halftime.

LEROY SANÉ – NOTE 1: Back in the starting XI after two games as a joker, Sané fired a shot wide of the goal (7th). Irresistible. With passes to Müller 5:0 and 6:1, then scored 7:1 (86th).

Top marks for Müller and Lewandowski

THOMAS MÜLLER – NOTE 1: Own goal scorer against Leverkusen, of course Müller didn’t want to let that sit on him. Involved with Coman and Lewandowski in creating the penalty to make it 1-0. Preparer for Lewandowski’s 3-0. To be found everywhere, light-footed. And then with two great shots from the left to make it 5:0 (54th) and 6:1 (83rd).

KINGSLEY COMAN – NOTE 2: In the first leg, Bayern’s King had saved the 1-1 late, this time he prevented the early 0-1. Coman blocked Capaldo’s shot to a corner at the last second (3′). Also top in front, fought the ball before the 4-0, released Gnabry. Part of the royal Bayern attack.

ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI – NOTE 1: Goalless twice in a row in the league, starving against Salzburg. Lewy scored a penalty, which he took himself, to make it 1-0 (12th). The 2-0 was a copy, again Lewandowksi converted the penalty kick (22nd). And then the hat-trick was perfect: After Müller’s pass, Lewy first hit the post before pushing the ball into the goal with his thigh. Brilliant!

BOUNA SARR – NOTE 3: Came in for Gnabry after 45 minutes to secure the right side. Solid. Offensively agile.

DAYOT UPAMECANO – NOTE 3: the Frenchman replaced compatriot Hernández (60th). Safe in the center of defence.

TANGUY NIANZOU, MARC ROCA and ERIC MAXIM CHOUPO MOTING came too late for a review.
