Since last Sunday the Piacenza Baseball youth outdoor season can be said to be officially open. With the first friendlies it was possible to see two of the three youth teams that Piacenza will present in the 2022 championships at work, which will start on the second weekend of April.
These were indicative tests which, beyond the scores, provided important data to the technical staff. Victories did not come but it doesn’t matter. Far more encouraging is the fact that we have found a good amalgam in groups which are partly the result of the change of category of some athletes and which, in particular for the U12, see the absolute debut of some beginners.
Under 15
However, the details of Sunday’s results speak of two defeats for the U15 in Rho against Old Rags Lodi (9-3) and Vercelli (13-1). These are the players on the roster: Mandas, Ramirez, Pancini A., Pancini L., Riviera Mar., Travaini, Riviera Mat., Achilli.
Under 12
Forced to surrender twice also the U12 of Piacenza Baseball engaged in a triangular match in Lodi. The Old Rags (12-5) and Codogno (7-0) got the better of the red and white. The hosts won this opening mini-tournament by beating Codogno by 1-0. These are the little Piacentines who went down in diamond: Milani, Camminati, Achilli, Bertonazzi E., Ozzola, Chavarria, Ferrari, Piana, Bertonazzi A.
