Last 4 outdoor lessons for the Friuli Venezia Giulia baseball academy, which left the protection of the Prosecco tensile structure to regain confidence with the diamond.
They were two intense days, both for the activity on the field and for the copious cold, also thanks to the bora that blew continuously throughout the weekend. However, the low temperatures did not affect the mood and the desire to work of the athletes, who continued to show enthusiasm in a project, that of the first academic year in FVG, which gave excellent results.
On the first day, which took place in Buttrio, home of the White Sox, the staff wanted to repeat all the physical tests carried out in the autumn, to understand what improvements were made in the athletes during the academic year.
The next day, guests of the Europa Baseball Club of Castions delle Mura, the group was finally able to put into practice the teachings on a diamond, after six months of hard and meticulous preparation indoors.
“There have been some guys who have improved their personnel, but to get a complete picture we will wait until next weekend when we complete the tests” declared Daniele Santolupo, technical director of the project. “Surely the weather conditions have influenced the results, just think of the sustained wind. The fact is the physical condition of the group seemed very good, a sign that the proposed work gave room for growth “.
The last two days of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Academy project will see players and staff engaged in two friendlies, to conclude the path followed so far on the pitch. Specifically, the academists will face the Tigers of Cervignano del Friuli on Saturday 12 March 2022, guests on their diamond; Sunday 13 March second game session in San Lorenzo Isontino (GO), where it all started with the June selections, to face the local team.
In conclusion, the regional committee and the academy staff would like to thank the Europa Baseball and White Sox companies for their kind hospitality.
