Puerto Rico receives regional archery qualifier – NotiCel – The truth as it is – Noticias de Puerto Rico – NOTICEL

The event will be a qualifying event for the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games

Five days before the beginning of the Puerto Rico Archery Cup, the Archery Federation presented the final details of the event that will grant the first places for teams and individuals in the qualification for the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games and, in turn, is an event of the ‘World Ranking’ series of the World Federation of this sport.

The event that will mark the history of archery in Puerto Rico will begin on March 15 with the elimination phase of 72 arrows in recurve and compound bows, in both branches. On that first day in the morning from 8:30 am, both modalities will compete in the women’s branch, then in the afternoon the men will do their section from 1:00 pm.

“In the action on Tuesday, March 15, the 150 archers will be shooting their 72 arrows, after which the crosses for the Olympic round will be defined, as well as for the qualifying phase for the Central American and Caribbean Games,” said the president. of the Archery Federation of Puerto Rico, Jean Pizarro.

The qualifying phase for the Games in El Salvador will have its first round in the team format on Wednesday, March 16. During the day the countries will compete for four places to classify their countries to the regional fair in recurve and compound.

Meanwhile, the countries that do not qualify by teams or those that do not meet the minimum of three goalkeepers per modality will seek their classification for the Central American and Caribbean Games on Friday, March 18, individually. That day recurve and compound will give four places each in masculine and feminine.

For its part, the day of March 17 will have action in the elimination round of the ‘World Ranking Event’. For Saturday 19 will be the clashes in mixed.

The finals of the event will take place on Sunday March 20 from 10:00 am; The ‘World Ranking Event’ gold medal matches in recurve and compound will kick off at 3:00 pm, broadcast live on the World Archery You Tube channel.

The countries that will see action along with Puerto Rico are Bermuda, Bahamas, Chile, Colombia, El Salvador, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago, United States, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Costa Rica.

Joy in Bayamón

The mayor of Bayamón, Ramon Luis Rivera, expressed his satisfaction at receiving the Puerto Rico Archery Cup and especially with the opening of capacity for different activities, which will allow fans to enjoy the high level of competition without having to limit their access to the stadium.

“Bayamón welcomes the participants of this international event with great joy, which represents an opportunity to exchange ties of friendship with other countries, inject resources into our economy and promote sports tourism in our city. This event has special meaning, since it takes place at a time when sports facilities can have 100% capacity, which will give all fans who wish to attend the different scheduled competitions and events the opportunity,” said the Mayor.

For the event, fans will not have entry restrictions with the new executive order that will come into force today, March 10.

The Bayamo chief executive pointed out that “in the same way, through these competitions we get the maximum potential from the facilities of the Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium, which has everything necessary to hold various events of international caliber.”
