Ancer wins last WGC of this 2021

Abraham Ancer Finally he tasted the honey of his first victory on the PGA Tour, which he dedicated to all of Mexico, but especially to heaven, from where his greatest admirer followed him: his father.

After 121 tournaments played in the top category, Ancer managed to be crowned in the top category, and he did it through the big door by lifting the trophy the WGC FedEx St Jude Invitationalfourth and last world championship of the season on the circuit.

The 30-year-old player from Reynosa acknowledged that his victory is the result of a lot of effort, a goal he had had since he fell in love with the sport of poles as a child thanks to the influence of his father, Abraham, who accompanied him and promoted since he was very young, but unfortunately he passed away in 2013, a few months before he made his debut on the PGA Tour.

“It will take time for me to assimilate what I am experiencing, many things have happened to be able to have this victory, since I was 10 years old it is a dream I had with my dad. I have always said that it was thanks to him that I fell in love with this sport, I would like no one more to be with me than him to celebrate this victory. This is dedicated to him, to my family and everyone who has always supported me, ”he explained.

Ancer suffered to be crowned every time he had to play two playoff holes against the American Sam Burns and the Japanese Hideki Matsuyama, after they finished tied with a total score of 264 strokes (-16).

“When I was going to start the tiebreaker I felt very calm, it was a very strange peace, normally you would think that you were going to get nervous, but in reality it was the opposite. I thought about many things, especially with my dad, I knew that he was with me and that he was with me,” he said. Yesterday, Ancer got rid of the thorn after adding four second places, now he can boast joining the group as the third Mexican to win a victory on the PGA Tour.
