Rodgers expects Rennes to make Leicester ‘suffer’ in return

Brendan Rodgers (Leicester coach who beat Rennes 2-0 in the round of 16 first leg of the Europa League Conference): “It was a very pleasant game. We have seen that Rennes is a very good team and why they are playing for the Champions League qualification. They started better than us, they were more aggressive on the ball, we lost too easily. But we managed to get back into the game and then there was the first goal which gave us confidence. I think we only left them one shot on target, when they usually score a lot and we scored two good goals. So it was a very good evening. Before the match, I had told the players that whatever the result, we would only be at half-time of the confrontation. At 2-0, we know we will suffer, they will have nothing to lose, we will be under pressure. But we know we can score and now we defend really well. We can only be satisfied with the result, but we are only half-time. We can’t wait for the second leg».
