GUADALAJARA, Jal., March 10, 2022.- Frustration, sadness and impotence is what the young badminton athlete, José Miguel Pérez Lugardo, suffers, who at 13 years old still does not understand why, despite his efforts, the coaches of the State Council for Sports Promotion, Code Jalisco seem to be determined to impede their sports growth and not allow their participation in the Conade 2022 National Games with cheating calls, his mother, Karen Lugardo denounced that it is an act of discrimination because her son lives with Asperger syndrome.
“You can be left out to go to the Olympics because the call is all worked out, the call says that they are going to play doubles, and they are going to choose two singles, two doubles, mixed doubles. I also have the call for Conade where it is not governed like this, this is for the favoritism of the athletes who suit them, I don’t know how they intend to win an Olympics if they are doing nothing more than discriminating here, today my son should go up to category 15 there where he is strong and play with his corresponding racket”.
He explained that the coach Francisco Gómez Ayala, the same one who mistreated, exposed and even removed the teenager from the Code facilities, who lives with a vulnerable condition, is involved in the selection of the athletes who will participate in the eliminatory rounds, which has to the very anxious and stressed young man.
Karen Lugardo stated that her son is playing under protest because they gave him a call that was poorly made, with misspellings, with incorrect dates, without signatures or official seals, that is to say, that it does not offer them any certainty.
Request the intervention of the Governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro, to review what is happening in the Code, because although there are many good officials, committed to inclusion and helping young people who have disabilities and must make twice the effort, there are others, like coach Francisco Gómez Ayala and methodologist José Marco Mena, who have no tolerance for those who are different.
Since we learned of this case in Quadratin Jalisco We ask for an interview in the Code Jalisco, where they pointed out to us through a statement that they are indeed inclusive; However, so far they have not agreed to answer questions about how they apply the inclusion they presume.
