Our city club started this 2022 with women’s basketball. The idea is to bet on forming a large group of girls who represent the institution.
The “national flower” will be the fourth alternative for women to learn and play basketball. A project that had been developing and that is beginning to take shape at the hands of professors Ignacio Brigato and Florencia Boetto.
Brigato, one of the youth coordinators, commented that “The idea arose because we had demand, questions and a lot of consultations were made about the girls’ space. I think that associatively in the future there will be a requirement for the clubs to have the women’s categories “.
He added that “We always wanted to start with women’s basketball but we could never start it. Now we have Florence (Boetto) who had the time availability. We have two schedules in the morning and two in the afternoon a week. We already started on February 17 and we want everyone to know that we are already working on this project that was born from scratch. The idea is to add as many girls as possible for tomorrow to have an important women’s basketball “.
Boetto, the teacher in charge, for her part stated that “In the morning we train Tuesday and Thursday at 9 am, while in the afternoon we train Monday and Friday at 3 pm. We have the group of 12 years and above but the idea is that as girls add up and divide by categories. From 4 to 12 there is the possibility of mini-basketball, which is mixed”.
In addition, he stated that “We already have girls who started on February 17, who are coming to train and they seem very eager. It is not necessary that the girls know or have played basketball, the idea is that they come and learn “.
Registration is still open and those women who want to start playing can approach the club from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the secretariat. Also through the club’s social networks all concerns on the subject are answered.
