Find out which is the best ski resort in the world

After nine years of unchallenged reign, the French ski resort of Val Thorens is no longer considered the best in the world. As reported in a ranking published on January 19 by the worldskiawards site, which has been awarding this award since 2013, and spotted by She, the award returned in 2021 to Verbier in the Swiss Alps. Second place went to the station of Kitzbühel, in Austria in this ranking defined by the vote of Internet users.

In addition to the prize for the best ski resort in the world, Verbier saw the “Hotel W” being awarded the prize for the “best mountain hotel in the world”, for the sixth consecutive time. The cheapest room costs almost 1,000 euros per night. Located at an altitude of 1,500 meters, in the heart of the Swiss Alps, Verbier offers a ski area with 400 kilometers of slopes, known in particular for the quality of its freeride section, with a stage of the freeride world tour, Xtreme Verbier.

Val Thorens remains the best ski resort in France

Verbier is also known to be widely prized by the British Royal Family. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie stayed there at the beginning of January last year, as did Ivar Mountbatten, first cousin of Prince Philip, in 2015. Prince William was also filmed dancing there in a nightclub in 2017 .
