Cral Mattei Ravenna baseball is in the starting blocks for the third season under the guidance of manager Matteo Casadei who obtained promotion from Serie C and two consecutive Serie B championships in which two peaceful saves were achieved. To confirm the growth of the staff available, in the second season in the cadet championship, the manager Casadei is confident that he will be able to use Bernabini on the mound, in the first challenge, then in race 2 he will rely on the launches of the Laghi duo, with Filippo starting and Cristian Relief struggling with shoulder muscle problems. In the second challenge he will rotate with the launchers Bardasi, Montalti and Buriani.
The Alligators roster will be completed by Falanga 2nd base, A. Casadio receiver external right,; Piolanti 3rd base, C.Laghi outside right, Manzanillo 1st baser receiver, Saccani outside center, Orselli 2nd base, Mazzotti and Perez Colas Ruzzo receivers, Tramonti 3rd and 2nd base will be included from the youth sector, Casadio Matteo 3rd base, receiver Lama. The Ruzzo receiver from San Lazzaro di Savena and with a season with Fortitudo Bologna behind him two years ago will be used to increase the potential of the Alligator launcher fleet.
As for the friendlies, Ravenna has foreseen a double challenge on the Rimini diamond against the riparian team that plays in the top league. On March 20, two matches at the Bologna Pillar against the local A1 Athletics team. On 27 March double challenge in Spadarolo against Rimini in Serie C, on 3 April home debut in via Lago di Garda against Pianoro in Serie B. The following week the friendlies will end with the double home challenge with S. Giovanni in Persiceto of B series.
The championship will begin on Saturday 16 April with the double engagement on the Fiorentina diamond (at 3 pm and 8.30 pm). Fiorentina is one of the most accredited formations for promotion to the top flight. The Casadei manager is not discouraged and considers the debut a test to test the real potential of its staff. In the meantime, the Gialloblù management is still active on the transfer market: they are trying to conclude the negotiations for the arrival from Torre Pedrera of an under 18 right hitter to increase the potential in the batting box.
