The athlete from Molise was awarded today in Ostia the important honor given to him by the national president of the Italian Martial Arts Federation, Stefano Falcone
The Isernina judoka, Maria Centracchio, winner of the Olympic bronze medal in her discipline in Tokyo last August (category -63 kg), was awarded today, Thursday 10 March, in Ostia with the important honor of Knight of the Republic. The diplomas bear the signature of the president, Sergio Mattarella, and were delivered to the athletes of the Martial Arts federation by the national president, Stefano Falcone.
On the day of the five-circle venture, his words immediately went viral: “Molise exists and leads strong”. As she said herself, she dreamed of becoming a dancer but she has judo in her blood and her father Bernardo as mentor of a brilliant competitive path studded with silver at the Junior European Championships in 2014 and bronze at the U23 Europeans in the same year. In 2015 she won the African Open in Casablanca and the bronze in Sofia in 2016. After numerous podiums at the youth level, she took the big leap by putting the bronze on the bulletin board at the 2019 Minsk European Games.
