Charge against Quincy Promes changed from manslaughter to murder | Foreign football

Quincy Promes is accused of stabbing his cousin in the knee on July 25, 2020 after a family party. Promes himself denies the case, but wiretaps from the police show that Promes openly told his father about it (see also Read).

The prosecution initially wanted to prosecute him for attempted manslaughter, but has now increased the charge to attempted murder. The latter charge is based on premeditation and more severe penalties are possible.

From the phone conversations with his father, it seems that Promes waited to attack his cousin until the party was over. Promes says in the conversation: “You can say: alcohol, because if I was that drunk, I would have taken it at the beginning of the party. I waited neatly.”

The victim’s lawyer had already started proceedings to prosecute Promes for attempted murder, but that is no longer necessary.

The criminal case is scheduled for March 31.
