Anatoly Tymoschuk will never be allowed to work in Ukrainian football again. The Football Federation of Ukraine ruled that after the former midfielder refused to condemn the war in his homeland. Tymosjchuk is also still working as an assistant at the Russian top club Zenit.
Anatoly Tymosjchuk is best known for his 4 years at Bayern Munich. For the rest, he played in Ukraine, including with Shakhtar Donetsk, and in Russia, with Zenit. At the latter club, the now 42-year-old Tymosjchuk is still an assistant.
While almost all of his compatriots fled Russia at the outbreak of the war, Tymoshchuk kept his post in Saint Petersburg. In addition, he stubbornly refused to speak out about the conflict.
That attitude has caused so much bad blood in Ukraine that Tymoshchuk, who is the record international for the country with 144 caps, loses his coaching license for life. Even all of his trophies that he won in Ukraine (including 3 titles and 3 cups) are removed from his honors list.
