The Besanese on the top step of the podium

Federico Bosis, the judoka from Besana in Brianza, won the Italian judo championship, cadet category.

After two weeks from the gold medal in the Under 18 Continental Circuit, the Besanese judoka Federico Bosis won the Italian championship in the cadet class, held last weekend in the Palafijlkam of Ostia. The young promise of the tatami has defeated all her opponents with a test of great value. «Federico had no rivals – commented Filippo Poni, technical collaborator at the Polisportiva Besanese, who was next to Federico during the event -. He fought with great determination. He is an athlete capable of great concentration and coldness and, thanks to this quality, he managed to impose himself on all opponents before the time limit ».

In his climb to the top step of the podium, Bosis has in fact “eliminated” several opponents from various areas of Italy, and in the final he faced Niccolò Manusia from Turin, opponent on the mat and friend in life, marking the point of victory for a few seconds from the end of regular time. Bosis is not new to these feats, already in the under 15 class he had won the title of champion of Italy for two consecutive years. “It is a great satisfaction to see Federico back on the podium,” said the technical director of the Besanese association, Alessandro Comi.

Federico’s season will continue in the coming weeks with the second stage of the Continental Circuit scheduled in Zagreb: the focus shifts to the under 18 World Tour which, next summer, could easily culminate with the call to the national team to take part in the most important international category appointments. “It was a medal that had been missing for a while. I was two-time Italian Under 15 champion and returning to the top step of the national podium is a great satisfaction… almost a liberation. The last two years have not been easy due to Covid: training and growing sports has been a more difficult undertaking than it should be … but I am stubborn and with the help of my coaches I have been consistent with my goals and have returned to race as I like it », commented Federico.
