TORONTO — Ontario Hockey League officials have expelled the Flint Firebirds president of hockey operations following an investigation into comments that violated the league’s diversity policy. .
In a press release issued Thursday, OHL officials announced that Terry Christensen was ejected for “behaviour causing harm to the welfare of the league.”
The statement did not detail the nature of Christensen’s comments. Last week, TSN investigative reporter Rick Westhead reported that Christensen was suspended for allegedly making a racially inappropriate comment about a player.
The league said an investigation into Christensen began after an allegation was made through the OHL’s player communications system.
