A gold mining entrepreneur from Ghana is interested in buying Chelsea. He even intends to bring Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to Stamford Bridge.
Roman Abramovich announced the sale of Chelsea last week. The Russian tycoon was forced to end ownership The Blues following the Russian military attack on Ukraine.
Abramovich set Chelsea’s selling price of 3 billion pounds (Rp 56.7 trillion). Several billionaire names such as Hasjorg Wyss (Switzerland), Todd Boehly (United States), Muhsin Bayrak (Turkey), and Nick Candy (England) are reportedly interested in acquiring the London club.
Most recently, interest came from a Ghanaian gold entrepreneur named Bernard Antwi Boasiako. Quote The Sunthe Wontumi Group boss is ready to redeem Chelsea’s selling price of 3 billion pounds.
Boasiako stated his intention to the Ghana radio station Wontumi FM. He also wants to bring in some top stars if he manages to become big boss at Stamford Bridge.
“I want to go and buy Chelsea Football Club, I am interested in it. The people who buy clubs are not footballers, but businessmen,” said Boasiako, quoted from The Sun.
“I am also a businessman. I plunged into a gold mine. Why don’t we buy the club? I want to join the tender,” he continued.
“If I were the owner, I’d want the Brazilian at Real Madrid, Vinicius Jr. – and sell Romelu Lukaku. I’ll talk to Manchester United to see if I can buy Cristiano Ronaldo for Chelsea. I’m also interested in signing Lionel Messi.”
“Roman Abramovich has done his best. Now is the time for him to support a Ghanaian or African to buy Chelsea,” Boasiako revealed.
Boasiako has sent an official letter of application for the purchase of Chelsea, Wednesday (9/3/2022). He made an offer of 3.1 billion US dollars (Rp 4.4 trillion).
Many people doubted Boasiako’s financial ability to buy Chelsea. The regional head of Ghana’s New Patriotic Party is claimed to have ‘only’ a total wealth of £76 million (Rp 1.4 trillion), well below the selling price. The Blues.
