Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick hasn’t played since 2016, but he hasn’t given up on a comeback to the NFL.
According to a source who confided in the renowned Adam Schefter of the ESPN network, Kaepernick is still training and “is in the best shape of his life”.
“He wants to play,” added the same source. “He is ready to play. He would be a perfect candidate for teams looking for a quarterback who want to win a Super Bowl. »
After leading the 49ers to a Super Bowl appearance in 2013 and then taking a knee during the national anthem to raise awareness among Americans about racial violence and police brutality, Kaepernick rocked the NFL.
Becoming a free agent in 2017, the now 34-year-old athlete has not been signed since.
On Friday, Kaepernick showed on social media that he still wants to play in the NFL, posting a video showing him in practice and accompanied by the words, “I’m still working.”
