The State Council for Sports Development (CODE) Jalisco, rejects the existence of a case of discriminationafter this media reported about the situation that the young José Miguel Pérez, part of the badminton team.
For his part, the CODE Jalisco director of competitive sports, Carlos González, mentioned that are aware of this problemso the coach involved is already under internal investigation, in such a way that if it is determined that this case is true, will be separated from his position.
“Yes, note that they are facts that we also had the opportunity to talk with the lady, but the truth is that, well, regardless of any situation, the head coach is under investigation within the internal comptroller to determine if it is true”, mentioned Carlos González.
This is a situation that is being resolved with the internal protocols and the selective will be carried out as established by the regulations, making it clear that if José accredits his place, will be able to compete in national events.
“I think it’s a little contradictory within the process to speak of such a word of discrimination, because it is in a preparation sport in the performance developmentwhich implies in this training, well, that not everyone, it is not for everyone, in the fact of being able to speak with a physical activation issue, “explained Carlos González.
It should be noted that one of the fundamental requirements that fosters this situation for which the athlete is passingis that José previously trained elsewhere and participated in a competition representing Michoacán.
“The call for the state process is made and in which the Selection criteria where the child to be able to participate has to comply with certain requirementswhat happens is that the lady commented that she took the boy to train in another place, she represented the state of Michoacán, and that now she asks us to talk about it, when she has to comply with the requirements that they must represent the state of Jalisco”, detailed the director.
The investigation process continue with the purpose that the resolution is the most appropriate for both parties, especially so that sport Jalisco is favored.
