Alexis García is offensive… in interviews

Alexis García spat fire and lit the bonfire. The fiery statements of the La Equidad coach have aroused more emotions and reactions than the tedious match that his and Junior’s team equaled 0-0, the previous Thursday at the El Campín stadium, in the first leg of the first phase series of the South American Cup.

The Chocoano and his pupils attacked very little on the field, but in the press conference after the monotonous, bland and rustic soccer duel, the coach threw several darts.

The helmsman of the insurance table considers that his team played in a way consistent with the investment and experience of his payroll against “a squad full of stars”.

“We played with boys who had their first international game, the comparison is obscene, we played against a team with a lot of power and they couldn’t beat us. And I understand that that takes the stone out of some, because for them to be happy La Equidad had to open up and let themselves be beaten. This is football, you have to analyze football and the two teams have different ideas”, commented García at the press conference.

“Today was a game of men with beards and mustaches against a team of ‘pelaos’, and it was a good game, it was a fair result,” he added.

García, who failed as a Junior counselor in 2013, did not stop there and yesterday he bombarded the red and white awnings with everything, especially the goalkeeping coach José María Pazo.

“I find the statements of (Jorge) Arias very interesting,” Garcia began by saying in dialogue with Blu Radio when he heard that the central defender stressed that “La Equidad played a good game from what he proposed, playing man to man.”

“There are statements that serve to nurture and others to undernourish, it depends from where one analyzes them. I am seeing that he is making a career in Colombia by repeating lies that become truths. Although those of Arias seem to me a white lie, it seems to me that they were with respect. Others who are part of the coaching staff (of Junior), who one would expect would have much more intellectual structure to talk about rivals, do so with less respect. I believe that the man does not exist in football today, in La Equidad he does not exist, “said García with notable annoyance.

Alexis did not like that the historic former goalkeeper of the ‘Sharks’ stated that La Equidad dedicated himself to kicking throughout the game. “That was paw and paw, from minute 1 to 94,” Pazo told Caracol Radio.

The DT defended tooth and nail his conservative approaches and went spear at the ready against Pazo.

“Yes, that concept seems a little obscene to me. And in José María, whom one knows so many miseries, I don’t think he has the intellectual capacity to speak that way. I believe that in this there are lies permeating the truth. I know that there are ways to defend themselves, what happens is that they are not loyal. If it is the way to defend yourself before your public and the people who were asking for an easy victory against an Equity who see you as emaciated, that is not the way to defend yourself. You have to have more height to face these situations in which one is in a disadvantageous situation”, Alexis García shot.

“Equity has never made a man-to-man mark, what happens is that it is a team that is so difficult to decipher sometimes that impotence leads people to reduce the analysis of the games to simplism,” he added.

Garcia’s bullets were fired at all the critics of his football. “Equity became a mess playing with the so-called big teams because when we beat them or we don’t lose with them, we become very dirty entanglers or we make time. I am very sorry for that, sometimes I choose to go out very little to speak because ignorance is very daring.

He warned that La Equidad “is a screwed-up team with space” and that it will come to Barranquilla “to surprise.” And he slipped in one last taunt.

“This tournament for us is an opportunity, it is not a threat. He is a threat to teams that invest to win the tournament and then find difficulties with teams that think they are easy to get through.”

The second match between Junior and La Equidad in the Copa Sudamericana series will be played next Thursday at the Roberto Meléndez Metropolitan Stadium, starting at 7:30 pm Surely García and his pupils will maintain their hermetic and cutting style. The man attacks, but not on the field, but in his statements.
