BOLASPORT.COM – Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, said his squad would not be afraid if they met fellow English teams in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Manchester City managed to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2021-2022 Champions League despite failing to win during the match leg second round of 16 against Sporting CP at the Etihad Stadium.
Playing against Sporting CP on Wednesday (9/3/2022) local time or Thursday morning WIB, Manchester City could only end the match with a goalless draw.
Despite the draw, Manchester City have the right to qualify for the quarter-finals thanks to the 5-0 aggregate advantage obtained from the match leg first on February 16, 2022.
Manchester City followed Liverpool as England’s representative who first stepped into the last 8 after winning over Inter Milan 2-1 on aggregate.

Two other English clubs, Manchester United and Chelsea, could join in the quarter-finals if they beat Atletico Madrid and Lille, respectively.
Like during implementation drawing the round of 16, the draw for the last 8 of the Champions League, there will be no rules for the protection of compatriot teams.
Thus, Manchester City could meet with other English clubs if the result drawing stated so.
